Food is My Life

I admit it. I am obsessed with food. There’s other stuff—belly rubs and squeaky toys and running around smelling things—but nothing like food. Treats, meals, and especially people food.

I’m lucky to live in a city where people roam around throwing stuff on the street. And especially in the park, where they have parties and picnics and homeless people. Just two days ago I was off my leash to run home to our door. That’s what my owner mom does. Lets me loose at the end of a walkie. But my nose detected a chicken bone just lying there next to the dumpster, past our stairs. Now she keeps me on the leash all the way home. Not like there’s another chicken bone there. But that’s how they are; after I do something they change stuff.

If food is your life, and you're an only dog, you’re lucky. All the food is yours. Anything you can find, or beg, or climb on the table to eat. All the treats are yours. All the chews and bones are yours. And that’s a good thing. It’s simple. If a dog visits, you can share if you want to. Or if you have to. But when the company goes home, it’s all yours again.

But when a new dog moves in with you and never leaves, all your stuff is now their stuff. It’s not easy. You can hide stuff. You can stand over stuff and give the other dog dirty looks. But you can’t keep it all for yourself. I’m working on it.

And thanks to Dobby for this award! And I'd like to give it to Joe Stains and Lorenza

I love food too! I thought there was only one kind, the kind that flows from my mom's breasts, what I like to call liquid gold...mmmmm breast milk. But you speak of chicken bones, I don't know of these things. I will have to keep my eye out for them. Can you suck on them too?

Hi, Deefor
Thanks for the award!
You are right! I can play non stop, get ear and belly rubs, go out for walkies.... but if we talk about food... I can forget everything else. Food comes first!
Ume's idea is good. Ask your mom to get double of everything that way each one has their part! If not, you will have to share with Arrow forever!!!
Have a nice day

Hi Deefor! You are so good to share (sort of) with your brother. I don't have a brother, so I don't know too much about sharing.

And about my basket...I'm the pilot, but my Mommy is the navigator.

Dude, I hate having to share my stuff now with Scarlett. I feel your pain. She just comes up and takes it from me even if I've got it in my mouth! It's annoying! And MomDad won't even let me eat her tasty DIFFERENT food! How mean is that?!
I want to thank you for introducing me to PeeMail a couple weeks ago on your blog. I always knew it was there I just never knew what it was called! MomDad are taking us for walks almost nightly now and I've discovered there are a LOT of PeeMail stations in my neighborhood! And every one of them, Dad stops and says, "Okay Dobby, check your PeeMail." So, Deefor, if you're ever in Highlands Ranch, I left you some PeeMail around here! :)
