Dear Deefor and Awards

Dear Deefor,
Our girl works too many hours and we don't get to visit our friends' blogs as often as we'd like. What can we do?

Comet and BLU

Dear Comet and BLU
I have that problem too. Maybe you noticed. I don’t get to visit you as much as I want to. My humans works a lot. But if they didn’t work I might not get good stuff to eat. And do fun stuff.

Just visit when you can. I think other doggies understand. I’m just glad to see my bloggie friends when they can visit. Wish I had a better solution.

Deefor

And now I want to thank my friends Twister and Furby for giving me some really wonderful awards.

This one

And this friendship award

And this Red Puffy Heart

The rule is to pass them on to 7 other blogs. I want to pass them to

Charlie Daniels
Rocky & Bear & Lacylulu
River
Gus
Lady Kaos
Huskee Boy
Poppy
The 4 B's

Sorry I counted wrong. Anyway. There are so many brilliant, friendly blogs that deserve big hearts.....

Camping

I was good this weekend.

Went camping near a place called Leadville. My humans were happy cause they had showers and real toilets. Personally, I don’t mind if they smell bad. And I never flush.

Good camp site. I had my own personal squirrel. Kept an eye on him.

We crossed a mountain pass and stopped. I got to cool off in a mountain puddle.

We looked around at the scenery. My bearded owner was scared but I let him hold me till he calmed down.

Went on a train ride. Squeaky tracks. Put me to sleep.

Back to the station.

Two Bad Denver Dogs

We'd be in the dog house if we had one!

This morning my mom brought Arrow in from his walkie and was getting ready to take me. Sometimes she does 2 separate walkies. She was thinking of having some tea first cause I'm not in a hurry. But she forgot the door was opened and out ran Arrow.

It was very early. Not tooo many cars yet. He always runs to the park. Up the ally. Around the corner and across the street.

He chased squirrels. And ran away from mom and the bearded who were trying to catch him. There is a road through the park and he runs back and forth. My mom stands in the road waving the leash and trying to tell the cars to go slow.

After a long time Arrow ran around with a doggie in the middle of the park and the owner got Arrow to come over for a pet.

He hasn't run out for a long time. The humans have been very careful with the door. But thinking about chai tea is distracting.

My mom had tea and took me out. She was so upset with Arrow (the BAD dog) that it made her feel lovey to me (the GOOD dog). She took me in the middle of the park and let me run around loose, thinking how GOOD I was.

I tried to be GOOD. But a guy on a bike rode through the park and I chased him and tried to bite his feet. For a while. When he finally got away, she put me on the leash to go home.

Two BAD doggies.

The Chair

Arrow has a favorite chair. It’s the one leather thing he doesn’t eat.

He chewed on the wood a little. (My owner mom put some bad tasting stuff on it so he stopped. Mostly.)

He sleeps in it most of the time.

He looked so happy, I had to try it.

It is comfortable. Has a place to rest your chin.

Or your ear.

(About the last camping trip-- it was at a state park called Eleven Mile. Not many trees and can get real windy-- as in blowing over your tent!! But I think it was real good for the people and pelicans fishing.)

Last Weekend

This weekend was pretty boring. Sleeping. Eating. Walkies. You know the rest.

These are some pictures of last weekend. We went camping in this super sunny place. Good thing we always bring a beach umbrella.

A little doggie like Lorenza (but a boy) came over and slept in the shadow of our tent while his dad was fishing. Can you see him?

I saw a pelican pretty close up in the lake. And a donkey. Cattle. We took some walks and went for a kayak ride. They didn't take any pictures. I helped row and steer.

Dear Deefor and More

Dear Deefor,
Hey, I've put on weight. What can I do?

Butt wiggles,

Solid Gold Dancer

Dear Solid Gold,
The way your mom cooks and gives you restaurant food—who wouldn’t put on weight? I’d love
to get fat that way! (If you have any doggie bags—ha, ha,--send them to me!) I think you look cute.

Deefor

Dear Deefor,
I have got a question, can you help me with it if you don't mind?
Can you tell me how I can escape from my weekly baths?

Huskee Boy

Poor Huskee Boy (or should I call you Bathtub Boy)

Weekly Baths!!!??? I never heard of anything so bad. That’s torture. Tell your mom I think that’s been outlawed by the Geneva Convention along with water-boarding.

Deefor

I have to thank Kodak and Abby for giving me this wonderful and beautiful award.
Here is the rules....

1. You have to pick FIVE blogs that you consider deserve this award for creativity, design, interesting material and also contribute to the blogger community regardless of language.

2. Each award has to have the name of the author and a link to his/her blog to be visited.

3. Each award winner has to show the award and put the name and link to the blog that has given him/her the award itself.

4. Award winners and the one who has given the prize have to show the link of the "Arte-y-Pico" blog so everyone will know the origin of the award.

5. In compliance with said RULES, the award winner must show the RULES.

I would like to pass it to Charlie Comet and Blu Poppy and Rusty

I’ve been tagged by Furby and Twister to think of something my parents could do to make me a happy dog....

I’m a pretty happy dog so this took some thinking.

Bones make me happy. I like riding in the car. (Except to the vet and the groomer) Playing with other doggie friends like Avalanche is good. Running around loose is good.

Maybe my humans could move to a place with a yard. But if we had a yard maybe they’d never take me for walkies. My humans are lazy like that.

Maybe getting rid of Arrow would make me a happier doggie.

Pros: Doing more stuff with the humans
Getting all the belly rubs and smooches
Not having to be so bossy all the time

Cons: Not getting yummy treats for pooping and stuff
Not eating canned food sometimes—Arrow poops a lot so we get special stuff
Not having anyone to boss around
That’s about even pro and con. Guess we’ll keep him.

I think I'd be really happy if my humans never went anywhere without taking me. They shouldn’t work. Whenever they go out, they should take me to a fun place. Then I’d be happy all the time.

I'm passing this to Lorenza to see what she wishes for.

Blogal Warming

All over the world blogging doggies are too hot. In some places it’s over 100 degrees!! Not sure what that means, but I know how it feels. Burning sidewalks. Hot sun on my back.

Some doggies don’t think Blogal Warming is real. Maybe they live in the North Pole with Santa. Doggies in Pennsylvania, Arizona, New York, Mexico, and lots of places I forget, are way too hot.

What can we do? I like to go away to a cool place in the mountains.

Or get wet. But the humans don’t always listen to me. And sometimes they work. Then I just sleep a lot. Blogal Warming makes me lazy.

Maybe I'm always lazy but it's worse when I'm hot. How hot is it where you are?

Happy Anniversary Arrow

WARNING: WAY TOO MANY PICTURES OF A TERRIORIST.

One year since Arrow started occupying our home-- his one year adoption anniversary. We don’t know our barkdays cause when we were adopted the vet said we were about 1. Me, 2 years ago, and Arrow last year.

Arrow came from the same place I did-- Colorado Animal Rescue Effort. They take in animals and keep them till they find homes. It’s out in the country.

My mom found me there. She saw my picture on the internet.

Then last year she saw Arrow’s picture. She thought he would be good company for me.

I really didn’t need any company. I was fine going to the park and playing and then coming home to MY house and MY bones and MY toys. Sorry. This is supposed to be about Arrow.

Arrow is cute. That helps him when he does very bad things. Like run away or eat expensive shoes and throw up. Or pee on things.

A year of Arrow in pictures-- Chewing stuff. Having fun. Wrestling and playing bitey face.
