Peeing-Eye Dog

Revisiting a disgusting subject—Arrow.

The Arrow never understood about only peeing outside. Finally he mostly peed upstairs on a rug. At first when we tried pee pads, he only ate them. Little by little my mom put pee pads over the disgusting rug till he started using them. Then she threw away the rug and put down tons of pee pads. First 8. Then 6. Now 4.

Yesterday, I was just sitting upstairs minding my bones when Arrow came up and missed the pee pads again! It’s still a giant area but Arrow misses a lot. Sometimes he’s half on the pad. Adding a little Eau d’Arrow to the rug. Something that really upsets my mom.

She starts thinking about getting new carpeting. But Arrow peeing on new carpeting makes her more upset. And thinking about life in some distant future without Arrow but with new carpeting makes her even more upset. (That will never happen because my humans are pretty old so Arrow and me will redecorate when they’re gone. Now I’m getting upset.)

While my mom was crying over carpets and pee pads, I came up with a solution. I have NO trouble figuring out where to pee. (OUTSIDE!) And IF I used the pee pads I would never miss.

Arrow needs a Peeing-Eye Dog and I could do the job! I’d just grab him and lead him to the middle of a pee pad. Maybe there’s a need for Peeing-Eye Doggies in other smelly houses. I bet I could train them all!

Pee S. Censorship!! I had more graphic pictures of the Arrow's misses but my mom refused to post them!

That is a fantastic idea....you would make a great peeing-eyed dog! You know, Gizmo used to do that, and my mom would cry over her carpets. BUT, then someone told her to use dawn dishwashing liquid. You get a damp sponge and squirt some Dawn on the area rub it in real good, until it soaps up and then let it dry...takes away the pee smell, so arrow will not go in that area anymore....maybe try it, arrow might like it and it might work...worked for Gizmo.

Well, good luck with that. Arrow seems pretty determined. I hear one can never really totally get rid of that pee smell, especially to a dog nose.

Poor mom is conflicted, huh? She will miss those pee pee carpets one day.

Arrow. We can't believe that that sweet face peering around the corner could have done that. Tell us it's not true. And in the meantime, will just say, "We know you are trying your best. We don't know what your goal is, exactly. But we know you are trying your best to achieve it."

Trying to be encouraging,

Hi,
My Mommy uses Nature's Miracle to clean up all the messes. Sally Ann might look cute, but she makes messes sometimes. Mommy uses Nature's Miracle. It really seems to work.

My little sisters used to pee on the rug upstairs when we first got 'em cause they were never trained.
Mama tried the pee pads, but they did the same thing and peed on part of 'em or right next to 'em.
Finally, Mama got sick of it and blocked the upstairs rooms with a baby gate so they couldn't sneak up there and pee. Cause the girls won't pee in the house if Mama's in the vicinity. So far, so good.
Oh, and they gotta go outside like every 2 hours. Very small bladders.

That is a great idea! But... why do I suspect that peeing eye dog or not, Arrow will (um) not "shoot straight" and intentionally miss the peepee pad!

Sometimes its so hard being a dog. Why do humans need to rule the roost! What if we complained about where they go pee pee? Who is right? I think Khyra said it - negotating is needed

Gret idea! Mom wants to know if you work with bad pooping dacshunds in the middle of the night, too? My sister has been getting in trouble for getting up in the middle of the night and pooping on the carpet by the back door instead of waking Mom up.

Don't worry Mom he will get it soon. Callie girl still has accidents but it usually mom's fault since she is on a schedule.. She is good about getting mom up at 3 AM to go out..
Mom has no carpet anymore. Perhaps you should consider wood floors? Mom loves hers..
