Lookalikes

I was tagged by Murphy. This is what I have to do

1) open the folder that has your pet pics in it

2) choose one you haven’t posted before

3) tell its story

4) tag 5 friends

My 5 friends-- Khyra, Mango, The 4 Bs, Abby, and Deetz

This picture is of me sleeping in my favorite place. Under the blue thing. (Which they painted pink.) Can you find me? It’s my own little dog house. With it's own relaxing aroma therapy-- smelly shoes and dirty socks.

I was looking for a picture and I noticed something. You know how sometimes doggies start looking like their humans?

I think I am turning into my bearded owner. Same nose. Same eyes. Same mouth. I think I'm even growing a beard like his. Scary. Soon I’ll be walking on two legs and going to work. And he’ll be sleeping all day.

No Action Shots

I'm just under the desk while my mom's on the computer.

Arrow too.

Me and Arrow go to the doggie park almost every morning! Early. But my mom always forgets to take pictures. I have been pretty good. (This is the place where I bit someone a long time ago but no one remembers that now so SSHHH)

Last week we went to another doggie park and ran around so much that Arrow was like a normal doggie for almost 24 hours! My bearded owner wanted to call the vet cause Arrow was so peaceful!!

This is a picture of our rear ends coming home this morning. I'll make my mom get some pictures of all our new doggie friends. (and enemies)

Arrow Monday

Today I went swimming. Alone. Without my bossy bro Deefor.

My humans took me to a pool for doggies. That's a picture of my mom's tail.

Because I’m small, I paid less. The big doggies didn’t think that was fair.

I never went in a pool before (Except the fountains in the park. Don’t tell.) At first I didn't know where to get in.

But I figured it out.

There were a lot of nice doggies swimming and playing. They chased toys and played tug-o-war.

I really liked this brown and white doggie. I chased him a lot. Here I am giving a humping lesson to the big guys.

You probably wonder why Deefor didn’t come.
1. He doesn’t swim. Just sits at the edge.
2. He growls at big doggies sometimes
3. Not worth paying for a doggie that won’t swim and might get thrown out.
4. I need my space.

Doggie Days

A few weeks ago me and Arrow and my mom were driving home from the desert doggie park. She stopped for a red light and, while we were sitting there, a truck hit the back of the car!!!! I got scared. Arrow thought it was exciting. We were all OK except for the car.

RIP Mazda. That's what it looked like before. (I'm in the back refusing to get out.) I liked Mom's car cause it was messy. Very messy. So messy that she didn’t worry too much about sand and mud and other stuff like eating and getting yummy crumbs all over the place.

We got a different (cleaner) car. The first day we went to the doggie park in it, Arrow threw up on the front seat! I thought he stopped that. My mom cleaned it a lot and put towels and a blanket on the seats. Now she’s got them down and he’s traveling in his crate.

We've been going to the desert doggie park early in the morning when it's cool. It's mostly sand. I have some friends there. And a few enemies.

And we've been going to other parks. Good smells for roaching.

I managed to roach right out of that stupid harness thing they had me on. Feeling feisty.

Camping

I went camping! The thing about camping is Arrow doesn't go!! He barks a lot when he hears stuff outside and tries to knock down the tent if someone goes out without him. It's good for me. I get more special camping food. The humans like to recycle all their leftovers so a bear doesn't attack them at night. I am really very important at the camp site. We have NEVER been attacked by a bear.

A long ride in the car. (My humans found the window lock so I can only hang out sometimes.)

We got to the camp place and got the tent all up. Then we went for a little walk to check out a trail near our campsite. My humans are the only campers in Colorado who don't fish but they like to get wet. They just don't wear waders.

We were ready to go to a lake and swim but it started raining. Nap time in the tent. Very cuddly.

I learned how to open the zippers on the tent door with my nose.

I have my own doggie door!

Sunday I took my humans on a few pretty long hikes. I was sorry Arrow didn’t come. He would have liked to swim in the stream and jump around on the trails. I almost missed him.

My humans said maybe we can bring Arrow next time. The campsites are so far apart maybe no one will know who has the annoying barking doggie.

July 4th Weekend

I’m so behind. Just getting around to July 4th. We were in the mountains and we could see fireworks from our deck.

Arrow thought that was great. Arrow stayed on the lap outside. he is such a kiss-nose.

I decided to go inside and get through it on the couch. It wasn't too long.

Don't tell! I learned how to open the power windows. I like to see what’s going on.

And feel the wind in my ears.

On the way home, we stopped at a big doggie park with lots of trees and trails. The picture is about the only place without trees but my mom was so busy wondering where Arrow was that she forgot to take pictures. We met some nice doggies and ran around a lot.

My mom was visiting some family in Seattle. I missed her a lot. She gives more treats on walkies. The bearded one forgets. (But he’s shares his people food) Now she’s back.

This is who she was visiting. Cute. My mom's his grandma.

Arrow got something wrong with his eye. Yesterday he went to the vet in our ambulance. He likes going to the vet cause he can say hello to lots of doggie butts there. He got some medicine and his eye is looking better already.

HUMANS WITH BLOGS
These are some blogs my mom likes even if they aren’t written by doggies. She really likes the pictures of dogs best.

Ken Foster wrote The Dogs Who Found Me and Dogs I Have Met. Both books my mom likes. He and his friends help lots of doggies. Especially pit bulls.
We have his calendar in our kitchen! That’s from The Sula Foundation which helps pit bulls find forever homes.

Jon Katz writes books about dogs too. He lives on a farm in Vermont with sheep and donkeys and other animals. And some really smart doggies. My mom likes his books too. (And Arrow ate one.) He has lots of pictures on his blog.

Some doggie books my mom likes. Warning: A lot of these books are more about humans than dogs.

Merle’s Door by Ted Kerasote
Pack of Two by Caroline Knapp
Dog Years: A Memoir by Mark Doty
A Dog Year by Jon Katz
Puppy Chow is Better than Prozac by Bruce Goldstein

If your humans have some websites or books to add-- I'll make sure my mom adds them.
